VP of Business Development

The Vice President of Business Development role at Peel is a multidimensional leadership role. Peel is looking for a best of breed, entrepreneurial and inspiring leader. This role will be part of a small tightly-knit management team. This role will have a strategic impact on the company and requires interacting with our board of directors, when required.

Job Responsibility

The company has various business development needs. The V.P. of Business Development must have a proven track record of managing a team that has successfully delivered in the following areas as well as deep, hands-on expertise in a few of these domains. Your role as a leader will be hands-on as well as managing your team.
  • Distribution: At the core, Peel is a mobile app company. Peel has a strong track record of being very strategic to the partners and delivers great synergy with the right partners. In this role, you will filter, prioritize and finalize relationships that will deliver the largest footprint for Peel. You will work with Mobile Manufacturers, Mobile Carriers, Television Service Providers and other mobile strategic players to help achieve Peel's goals.
  • Relationship Management: Peel is currently in business with a few large partners. In this role, you will thrive to find new opportunities with those partners to expand the footprint.
  • Value Add Partnerships: You will build partnerships that will help enhance the product. These partnerships provide additional value to our customers by enabling the product with partner's capabilities.
  • Future Revenue Model: This role has the potential to evolve into a revenue function for the company. In future, in this role, you can explore, experiment and establish a business model for the company that will help monetize the Peel platform.
  • Success Factor: As the Business Development Leader at Peel, you will be required to come in and agree on a quantified goal that balances the short term objectives with long term strategic opportunities. Your plan must be an aggressive and forward thinking plan designed to take the company to the next level. You will be expected to jump into a few deals that are in progress and drive them to closure. There are several inbound interests that need to be nurtured, evaluated and decided upon. You will also build a strong pipeline of potential deals.

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of successful Business Development experience, including at least 5 years in a Business Development leadership role and demonstrated track record building high value relationships.
  • Identifying and developing new relationships that strengthens company's strategic position while meeting the short term goals.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to perform quick back of the envelope calculations on business scenarios.
  • Strong negotiation skills that creates win-win outcomes.
  • Experience drafting term sheets, working with lawyers, and closing deals.
  • Impeccable communication skills.
  • Previous experience with a rapidly growing organization (startup experience is preferred).
  • Mobile industry knowledge and experience working with mobile distributors will be huge plus.
  • B.A./B.S. with a strong academic record and an MBA from a top tier business school would be preferred.

Cloud Architect
